Multichannel listing software your AI agent can run

Crossmart is open-source multichannel listing software that keeps one catalog and one stock count for every store you sell on, starting with Shopify and eBay. Your AI agent, whether that's Claude, ChatGPT or another assistant, does the listing work, and every change waits for your approval.

What is multichannel listing software?

Multichannel listing software lets you create a product once and publish it as a listing on several marketplaces, each in the format that marketplace requires. It keeps prices, stock and orders in step across those stores, so you are not copying products and stock counts by hand.

A good multichannel listing tool does more than copy fields. Each marketplace has its own rules: eBay, for example, takes titles of up to 80 characters, up to 24 images and a set of required item specifics per category, as our eBay channel guide lists. The software has to adapt the product to each of those rules, or the listing is rejected.

How does an AI agent run your listings in Crossmart?

Crossmart exposes everything the dashboard does through an MCP server, so an AI agent you already use can search your catalog, fix listings and publish products on your behalf. You connect it once with a sign-in, and it works only in the workspace and with the access you grant.

The Model Context Protocol is an open-source standard for connecting AI applications to external systems, and Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and many other assistants support it. Crossmart has setup guides for each assistant, and the MCP server docs cover the tools and scopes. In practice you can ask things like:

  • "Which of my eBay listings failed, and why?"
  • "Publish the linen shirt to my second Shopify store at 10% off."
  • "Rewrite the titles of my kitchen products for eBay's 80-character limit."
  • "Which products are about to run out of stock?"

Will an AI agent change my listings or prices without asking?

Not Crossmart's own AI: every change Crossmart Agent proposes is a suggestion with a before and after that you approve. An outside agent you connect can only do what you allow, and read-only access lets it look without changing anything.

Deletions, price changes and changes to more than five items need an extra confirmation, and every change is recorded in the activity log. The Crossmart FAQ covers the details.

How does Crossmart keep stock in sync across stores?

Crossmart keeps one stock count for every store and sends a new quantity to each store as soon as stock changes. Every 15 minutes it also compares what Shopify and eBay show with its own count and corrects any listing that drifted.

Open orders hold the units they need, so the quantity each store sees is what you have on hand minus what is already sold. If two stores sell the last unit at the same moment, Crossmart records it as oversold so you can follow up, as the stock sync guide explains. Our page on multichannel inventory management covers how stock is held, reconciled and adjusted.

Which marketplaces does Crossmart support?

Shopify and eBay are live today. Google Shopping and Etsy are coming soon, and Amazon, Walmart and TikTok Shop are planned.

You can see each channel's current status on the channels page. We only call a channel live once it publishes and syncs for real stores.

What should the best multichannel listing software do?

It should adapt each product to every marketplace's rules, keep one stock count across stores, and show you clearly what failed and why. If you work with AI, it should also let your own agent operate it safely, with your approval on every change.

What do sellers run into when listing on eBay?

Two problems came up most while we built Crossmart's eBay connector, and both are easy to miss when a listing works fine on Shopify.

The first is images. eBay downloads every image itself and accepts only public https links, at most 24 per listing, so a product whose photos sit on a plain http address or behind a private link is rejected until the images move. The second is item specifics: eBay requires a different set of them in every category, so the same product can publish in one category and be rejected in another. Crossmart shows eBay's own error message on the listing, so you can see which of the two it is. From the Crossmart team.

How much does multichannel listing software cost?

Crossmart Cloud is priced by active listings, from $29 a month for 1,000 listings on the Starter plan, and every plan starts with a 7-day free trial. There is no free Cloud plan, but Crossmart is open source and free to self-host.

A product live in one store counts as one listing, so the same product in three stores counts as three. Every plan includes every channel, the API, the MCP server and the SDKs, and Crossmart never takes a percentage of your sales. The full plan list is on the pricing section.

How do I start?

Create an account, start the 7-day trial and connect your Shopify store or eBay account. Then import your products or create them, and publish them to your other store from one place.

If you already use an AI assistant, connect it with the setup guide for your assistant and ask it to do the first listing for you.
